Councillor supports preschool garden project

May 30, 2016

Councillor Adrian Collett paid a visit to our preschool to see the improvements children, staff and parents have made to the preschool garden thanks to a County Councillor Grant. Councillor Collett provided £500 of funding which has greatly improved the appearance of the garden.

The committee of volunteers that manages the community preschool has been able to buy a selection of equipment including high quality leaf shaped wooden story telling stools, decorative alphabet murals and weaving letters and numbers to adorn trees and fences in the garden.

Chair of the preschool management committee Vicky Elliott said "the grant has not only made the garden look much better but it has inspired the children to enjoy playing outdoors in ever more creative ways. We are very grateful to the councillor for his support."

Councillor Adrian Collett said "It was good to be able to support the Ancells Farm Community Preschool Garden Project.  This is just the kind of project these grants are designed for - helping people make a difference in their community and providing good opportunities for the children to experience creative outdoor play."
